This magnificently landscaped city park offers BBQs and play areas, making it the ideal destination for families or for a quiet escape with a picnic and a book. The park provides local residents with a unique inner city recreational facility, is home to Melbourne’s diverse bird life, and is an educational tool for sustainability for the wider community. Birdlife abounds in the park’s three wetlands and public art takes centre stage with two fascinating and graceful sculptures, the tranquil “Reed Vessel” and the 15m high wind-powered “Blow Hole”. Docklands Park is one of ARM’s largest water sensitive landscape projects to date. The Park wetlands provide vast underground water storages, enabling up to 80% of Dockland Park’s irrigation demands to be met with treated storm-water. |
